The renovation, conservation and extensive remodelling of an attractive existing redundant and deteriorating agricultural barn to form two new residential dwellings.
Our proposals looked to create an architecture that respects and compliments the existing agricultural buildings. The main brick barn is particularly handsome in proportion. Proposals do not seek to add new fenestrations and adversely affect the overall aesthetic, but to work with the existing and enhance the simple agricultural form.
Proposals seek to restore the building to its original form and omit latter architectural additions which detract from the simple architectural language. Any new additions will be visibly contemporary to avoid creating a pastiche, and maintain clarity in the rich architectural language and history of the site.
