Dunstall Estate.

Home Farm, Dunstall is an ambitious project to bring back to life a redundant series of Grade II Listed farm buildings and allow public enjoyment of the surrounding land, which forms part of the National Forest near Burton upon Trent.

At each stage, the character of the wider, rural landscape, the existing and adjacent Listed buildings and the hamlet itself have helped inform key design decisions to ensure existing and proposed structures co-exist happily both together and within the setting.

The scale and architectural language of exposed timber trusses is expressive yet sensitive and subtle to complement the existing character of the Listed buildings. The scale considers any visual impact on the surrounding landscape, repairing the views which are currently affected by redundant, over-scaled portal frame sheds.

The buildings are part of a wider scheme of landscape proposals, incorporating woodland walks and a refurbished walled garden, from the original Dunstall Hall.
