The brief was to produce a scheme which refurbished an existing office building, bringing the reception and common areas up to modern standards. In addition to the internal refurbishment, we were given the task of designing a new canopy to give prominence to the entrance point.

Despite its young age, the building’s reception and common areas were tired and in need of modernisation. The external forecourt, terracotta colonnade and glass canopy looked outdated and presented an opportunity to transform the buildings entrance.

Our proposal was to remove the clutter and dark appearance from the reception and install new finishes and lighting to give a bright contemporary feel to the space. We designed a bespoke reception desk and directory board to complement the space and incorporate the building’s new branding.

Externally a bold, double-height canopy created a clear and prominent entrance to the building.
